Do I need cellular network connectivity or internet to use my Digital Key?

• Cellular connectivity is not required to use a Digital Key that has been set up.​
• Internet connectivity is required to register a new owner key, delete a key and to share keys with friends and family​.
• Internet connectivity is not required for access-based Digital Key usage i.e. lock/unlock and start functions​.

Do I need to place the device at a particular location to access the vehicle?

When using a device that does not offer UWB capability, the Digital Key operates in NFC mode. In NFC mode the phone needs to be placed/tapped against the exterior door handle and on the interior wireless charging pad to unlock and start the vehicle.​

Which vehicles support Digital Key?​

At this time, Digital Key is supported on 2025 RAM 1500.

What Digital Key functionality is available in the Ram app?

Ram app allows you to create your owner Digital Key and connect with the vehicle for services such as Remote Vehicle Operations to lock, unlock, and start your vehicle remotely from anywhere in the world. You can also see a history of all Digital Key events and the status of currently paired Digital Keys in the Ram app.

Do I need to pay a subscription fee to use my Digital Key?

No, the service is free to use when the user activates connected services by accepting the terms and conditions.

Do I receive physical keys with my vehicle?​

Yes, regular key fobs and a backup Near Field Communication (NFC) key card are supplied with the vehicle.

Is my Digital Key secure?​

When your Digital Key is in the Apple Wallet^®, Google Wallet^™ or Samsung Wallet, your key is stored securely on your device. Your data is private and secure.

Are all phones compatible with Digital Key?

Device compatibility depends on the make and model. Devices must be running the latest available operating system. See below for a list of compatible devices, please check with the smartphone manufacturer for the latest operating system releases.
